Family Services of Los Angeles and Welfare Planning Council scrapbooks, 1940s-1960s.

This collection is an unusual assortment of scrapbooks originating, mainly, with Family Services and the Welfare Planning Council. Five albums (from Family Services) contain solely clippings of newspaper stories about adoption from California newspapers. Album no. 3 has information identifying the agency that gathered these clippings for Family Service--Allen's. Two albums (nos. 6 and 7) contain materials on the activities and functions of the Southeast Advisory Council, Family Services. Two others concern the Welfare Planning Council: albums nos. 9 and 10, while album no. 8 concerns the Neighborhood Youth Association of the Episcopalian Church. Finally, album no. 11 celebrates Evelyn Davis' nomination and reception of the Koshland Award. The dates of the scrapbooks' material range from the late 1940s to the early 1960s.
